Coming to Cuba
Different European airlines fly to Cuba.
For immigration you need a passport and a tourist card. The tourist card you can get at your travel agency or the Cuban Embassy. An extension up to 60 days is posible in Cuba.
There is no limit for your personal stuff and foreign currency.

Travel Time and Clothing
For Europeans summer time is the whole year in Cuba. The climate is tropical, average temperature is about 25 grad celsius. Summer clothing is enough, in the winter months you might need sweatshirts.

Money
Small dollar bills (not bigger than $20, because many shops accept bigger ones only with your identification or simply do not have change).
Traveller cheques in dollars (issued from American banks are not accepted)
Visa and/or Mastercard (issued from American banks are not accepted)

Accommodation
Hotels are in the European price class, but there is a lot of service missing.
A private accommodation is an economic alternative. We can offer a lot of rooms or appartments/houses. It’s your choice to maintenance yourself and know the Cuban life better.

Eating and Drinking
Big hotels have different restaurants. Mostly they have a buffet. For a dinner you have to calculate with $20 to $25.
In the most of the states restaurants you eat well, but the service... . Same prices as in hotels.
Private restaurants, Paladares, are a more economical way. There you eat for about $10.

Night life
A lot of cabarets. Mostly in the bigger hotels. There are lots of bars around where the Cuban life is celebraed until 3am. In tourist sites opened a lot of discos.

Shopping
As souvenir interesting: Rum, cigars, perfumes, CD’s and cassettes with Cuban music, books, paintings and handicraft.

Traffic
The bus enterprice ViAzul offers bus trips in buses with a/c specially for tourists. All bigger places are served. Departure in Havana is across the entrance of the zoo on 26th Street in Vedado.

Normal buses to all cities also from the Terminal de Omnibuses next to Revolution Square in Havana.
Trains are comfortable, but an adventure (delays). To book at the train station. A list of trains leaving Havana.
Domestic flights to all bigger cities offer
Cubana de Aviación and Aero Caribe.
Taxi
States taxis are very expensive.
Cheaper is to go with one of the private taxis. Price should be arranged before leaving.

Car Rental
Rented cars are expensive, but the best way to explore the island.
There are a lot of Servi-Cupet gas stations, but better is to refuel every time possible.

Post Office/Telephone
Tax for a post card is 60 Cents, a letter 75 Cents.
Calls to Europe are between $6 and $8 a minute.
