Sightseeing
Old Habana features the Plaza de la Catedral,
with the Cathedral of Havana and the Museo de Arte Colonial.
The Plaza de Armas with the fortress El Castillo de la Real Fuerza and El Palacio de los Capitanes Generales.
Finally, Calle Oficios with a lot of small museums (antique cars / coins from the colonial
periods / Arabian art and culture) and Calle Obispo witch is a shopping street.
Central Havana has The Capitol, the Gran Teatro de la Habana, the Museum of the Revolution (everything about the Cuban Revolution), and the Royal Fabric of Tabacco Partagas.
Vedado has especially the Revolution Square with the memorial José Martí and the big picture of Che Guevara on the wall of El Ministerio del Interior. The Hotel Nacional builded in neo-colonial style, the university, the Christopher Columbus-Cemetery and La Rampa which is the main street in Vedado with restaurants, discos and airline offices (Iberia, Aeroflot, ).
The Malecón is the boulevard along the sea where its pleasant to walk especially in the evening.

Just outside of Havana across the Canal de Entrada, there are two Spanish fortresses. The Castillo de los Tres Santos Reyes del Morro with a maritime museum (daily, 9am to 6 pm, US$ 2) and a lighthouse (US$ 2). The Fortaleza de San Carlos de la Cabaña (daily, 10 am to 10 pm, US$ 3) with a museum of Che Guevara in his former headquarter and a museum of old weapons.
Around Havana
Cojímar
A small fishing village 8 km in the east of Havana. This places was
one of Ernest Hemingways favorits. His novel "The Old Man and the
Sea" made Cojímar famous. A small castle and the
Terraza Restaurant in the bay.
Guanabo
A small town 30 km east of Havana, especially popular amoung Cuban
tourists as a beach resort. It has nice beaches, a good atmosphere, many restaurants.
